
LEI Xu is a Professor at the Faculty of Psychology, Southwest University. He is a PhD Supervisor, the winner of National Program for Young Talents, the distinguished Professor of Chongqing “Bayu Scholar”, and the recipient of the Chongqing Top Ten Science and Technology Youth Award. Currently he serves as the Deputy Director of the Faculty of Psychology, Director of the Sleep Neuroimaging Center at Southwest University, Vice Chairman of the Youth Work Committee of the Chinese Sleep Research Association, and Vice Chairman of the Cognitive Neuroscience Professional Committee of the Chinese Psychological Society. He serves as an editorial board member for Cognitive Neurodynamics, Scientific Report, Scientific Data, Frontiers in Neuroscience, and Brain-Apparatus Communication. His main research field is cognitive neuroscience, and his research interests include the neural mechanisms underlying the interaction between sleep and emotional memory, the pathogenesis and clinical intervention of sleep disorders, and multimodal neuroimaging techniques of sleep. He has published more than 200 papers in international journals, such as Nature Communication, Sleep Medicine Reviews, as senior author. And his H-index is 41 in 2025. Currently he leads multiple national research projects, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Science and Technology Innovation 2030 Directional Entrustment Project, and the National Key Research and Development Program of China.
