His secondary research area is attention and executive control, specifically investigating: the mechanisms of attention to target information and inhibition of irrelevant information in humans; the mechanisms by which factors such as reward (stimulus-reward associations) influence attentional processes and cognitive control. He employs a multidisciplinary approach including behavioral experiments, computational modeling, eye-tracking, electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). His research findings have been published in Cognition, Psychonomic Bulletin & Review, Advances in Psychological Science, etc. He was awarded the Social Science Award of Yunnan Province (Second Prize), has presided over the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Basic Research Program of Yunnan Province, and was selected for the Youth Talent Program of the “Xingdian Talent Support Program” of Yunnan Province.
